Gregers Wedell-Wedellsborg (born 1972) was appointed CEO of Matas on 1 November 2017. He came from a position as Group Executive Vice President at COOP Danmark A/S where he was in charge of four retail chains – Kvickly, SuperBrugsen, Dagli'brugsen and Irma. From 2012 to 2014, Gregers was Director of E-Commerce & Members’ Program at COOP Denmark and from 2007 to 2012 Digital Media Director at TV2 Danmark A/S. Before that, Gregers worked six years for Berlingske Media in strategy and management positions. Gregers began his career as a strategy consultant with Accenture. The common thread running through his career is transforming companies that undergo major changes driven by digitalisation. Gregers holds a MSc degree in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen, a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard and he is a Captain of the Reserve of the Royal Life Guards. He is chairman of the board of directors of Gyldendal A/S and deputy chairman in Tivoli A/S and member of the board of directors of the Danish Chamber of Commerce.
